Is God Queer?
Ethical Considerations Towards Queer Identity
Detlef Schwartz, PhD, PhD, pastor emeritus and university lecturer, addresses the problems the LGBTQIA+ community is facing in Western societies. Connecting this experience of discrimination and oppression with the question ‘Who is God?’ allows him to draw a picture of a modern Christian ethics within the frame of liberation theology that is based upon process theology and poststructuralist postmodernism. The final question, who God is to each of us, finds its answer in the creative image of a future where love overcomes the forces of power.
